Hi, I'm Betty and I am a portrait, lifestyle and special needs photographer. I grew up in Florida and have lived in South Carolina, Northern and Southern California and for the past 20 years I have called Texas home. I have been to every state in the U.S. but four; so I have been able to capture many beautiful landscapes along the way. Even though I am based in the greater Dallas area, I still travel and do destination sessions at least once a year.
Meet John, my husband, partner and the one who builds and brings to fruition all of my many ideas for the perfect project, prop or set. Originally from Mexico, John has called the Dallas/Ft. Worth area home for the past 34 years. John's favorite thing to hear me say is, "I have an idea".
I am pretty unconventional when it comes to photography. At most shoots you will find me on a step ladder - it goes everywhere with me. On other occasions you may see me climb a tree, stand in the ocean or even in a pool; you name it and I have probably done it. My goal is to make sure everyone in the portrait feels comfortable and at ease and since most of the time I am photographing a younger audience you have to be creative. Capturing the perfect moment for my clients is what continually motivates me. My passion is black and white images because textures and details make the image more interesting and draws attention to the lines that depict the forms in the image.
A photograph captures a moment in time in its actuality that can never be duplicated again and can be held on to forever - that is one of the main reasons I love photography. I also love photography because I love people. I love telling and sharing stories that others can relate to through photography and art. Anyone that knows me well knows that my view on life is and always has been "how can we help others, how can I help you capture and preserve a special memory".
I work with a published poet on commission pieces that are turned into pieces of art. If you have an old letter, poem, a note that you would like to preserve in art form or alongside a picture ; contact us and I can work with you on preserving these precious memories.
My photography through the years has included landscape, individual, family, and senior portraits along with professional headshots. I also work with area private schools and have done field days, graduations, grandparents day as well as some magazine advertising. Some of my work has been published in several area magazines such as "D Magazine", "Thrive", "Dallas Parent", and "Dallas Child". I also donate my services to area childrens charities as well.
I live in Dallas with my husband and my youngest of three children. When I am not shooting or editing you can find me sewing a princess costume, painting, gardening or volunteering at the Exodus House, school or in the Autism community.
